INTERESTING DISC DESIGN
Canadian CD singles are very interesting as they do appear to come with a disc design similar to CD singles released in USA on promotional format. They seem to come with either plain silver label like "Bad Girl" or "Express Yourself" on USA promotional CD.
Others have a large Maverick gold logo accross a silver disc like the USA promotional "Nothing Really Matters" 9trk or "Power Of Good-bye". The only other country to release non promotional CD singles with this type of promotional disc design is South Africa, where "Power Of Good-bye" came with large gold Maverick logo!
All CD singles have a different catalogue number system to USA so are easily distinguishable, although their printed Canadian origins are also an easy give-a-way!
BIGGER RAIN
Most world/USA releases were released in Canada which makes their existance a huge addition to any collection! These usually followed the USA sleeve design and track listings.

Here is some great information on the more recent CD singles from Canadian Collector David Morsillo, Madonna's No. 1 Canadian Fan!!!!!:
Some things I noticed recently were regarding the American Pie
maxi-single, sadly no 2 track was issued to compliment the maxi, but the
maxi has unique disc colour (note Canadian spelling!) which is a bit
darker (and nicer) than the UK and Europe issues. Also note the
interesting white jewel case. The Power of Goodbye maxi-single also was
issued this way. The rest are black.
The Power of Goodbye maxi-single has slightly different cover design to
the 2 track issue. Firstly the covers are slightly different in colours,
it's a bit hard to see if you don't personally own them (like me!) but
one is greyish (2 track) and the other is darker and less pale in colour
(maxi). Also note the title of the song, on the single it's at the top
while on the maxi it's in the middle! Also note that both formats are
the only ones released in the world that came in album style jewel
cases.
Beautiful Stranger like AP was sadly issued as a maxi-single only.
The disc design is like the Malaysian single except what sets it apart
and makes it unique is that there is no writing on the CD making it
nicer to look at, no title, artist just credits on the outer part of the
CD.
The Frozen singles are slightly different than each other in that the 2
track is darker overall than the maxi-single. The disc designs are
identical but are simply beautiful with little ROL }{ type of logos all
over the CD! Also the inside sleeve have two different pictures of Mo,
the 2 track having same picture as the back of the CD but the maxi
having
a unique take on a picture from the album booklet where she is in the
background holding her hand out with eyes closed and mouth slightly
opened, except in the CD maxi, its gold tinted!
The ROL single is more unique in terms of disc design. The CD single
having a nice royal blue starburst sun type design, while the maxi has
the same except the colour is a metallic colour version of the
background
of the front cover. The inserts are also unique with the maxi having the
untouched photo from the front cover and the CD single having the exact
same picture on the back even with track listing and production and
writing credits.
Cheers David Morsillo for above information on ROL album CD singles.
MORE COLLECTABLE CANADIAN CD SINGLES
The first CD single to be released in Canada was "Take A Bow" which was not only released in jewel casing (Canada's only jewel cased CD single) but it also had a black-toned cover, different to the European/UK brown toned design. This pressing also had a totally cool disc desgn, totally rare now!
The "Ray Of Light" produced an interesting limited edition digi-pak; this was believed to be the same as the USA version, but it was actually partly made in Canada. The limited edition digi-pak casing was manufactured in USA (has '9-46847 catalogue number) BUT the disc was pure Canadian and even includes special CDW46847 catalogue number.
The USA limited edition "Spy Who Shagged Me" which came in velvet casing was also released in Canada, with CDW47432 disc catalogue number (casing had '9-46847 catalogue number).
