Thailand has produced a small selection of CD singles. These are made in Thailand (or Malaysia) and come sealed in special resealable plasic suround. All copies are made under license and include a small sticker showing their authenticity.
This is a card sleeve CD single of "Nothing Really Matters" with regular graphics disc. Firstly, it's the only card sleeve CD single for 'Nothing Really Matters' with three tracks listed; the German pressings have just two. The tracks listed are 1. Album Version 4:27, 2. Club 69 Radio Mix 3:45 & 3. Club 69 Mix-show Mix 5:40, BUT the actual disc contains FOUR mixes and does not include the Mix-Show Mix at all!!!.
'Power Of Good-bye' is one of the most intesting Thailand CD single, as its the only 5-mix CD single of POG available in jewel casing (plus Singapore possibly). This is basically the Australian card sleeve CD single reprinted for Thailand in jewel format. The disc includes beautiful Thai manufacture inscription on the otherwise Australian disc. The sleeve even includes a strange non-printed gap down the left side where the card sleeve it was printed from was smaller.
'Drowned World' pressing is virtually identical to the German CD1 but does include Thailand manufacture written into it's design.
Thailand's second CD for 'Drowned World' came with this fantastic and totally unique peach coloured disc and full p/s in jewel casing. These are now fairly scarce and include Thailand manufacture.
'Ray Of Light' seems to have been the earliest Thai 5" CD single; this pressing is actually manufactured in Malaysia for Thailand and is the same as the UK CD1. The disc appears identical to the UK 'gate-fold' CD but the sleeve does include Malaysian manufacture.
The first ever CD single from Thailand was actually a 3" CD in a cool elongated p/s and inner disc tray containing a great yellow disc with three mixes of DCRMA: 'Miami Mix Edit 4:31', 'Miami Spanglish Mix Edit 4:29' and 'Miami Mix 6:55'. Catalogue number is 9362 43830-2 and the disc is actually a miniture version of the UK 5" CD single, very nice.
I first heard about this beautiful promo CD from a great friend in Thailand; his friend is a DJ and he had one copy, but was playing it to death. In Thailand, and the rest of the globe, 'Beautiful Stranger' was being played on radio and TV, and the special Thai 3" promotional-only CD single had to be one of the finest collectables that surfaced.
