YOUR MADONNA MESSAGE BOARD!

Britney's new single, Me Against the Music, from Her new album, In The Zone, coming November 17th features Madonna's vocals throughout the chorus and is actually rather good! Well thats my opinion anyway!

Here in the UK the single is out on 10th November and looks like being a huge hit. I am not sure how us grown men will look like buying a Britney single? Maybe I'll get my daughter to buy it for me?

The video looks equally cool, set in a futuristic nightclub environment where Britney almost kisses Madonna, ALMOST! If you are in UK then grab this weeks Heat magazine (1 - 7 November 2003) as it features some cool shots from the video. (Cheers Lewis mate for the image...)

These are the two highly collectable Harpers Bazaar magazines with Madonna covers from Greece and Russia. Both carry similar but not the same cover picture. These are dated October 2003 so would have initially appear in September. If anyone has others to add, just email me the scans and I'll do the rest!

The next book from Madonna is out on November 10th in USA, so probably same here in UK and rest of the world. The states is getting a special copy of Mr. Peabody's Apples with a youth tee featuring beautiful artwork from the book. Not sure whether the UK or rest of the world will get this. Be careful when purchasing from America if you are outside the States as you may get a huge import bill and customs may charge you tax on the purchase, making the whole deal two or three times the original price!

We (UK) are now into the fifth printing of The English Roses. Have you checked your copy yet? The first edition is what we are currently buying here in UK and rest of the world. However here in UK there are five different variations with the first print being most sought after.

The 2nd and 4th print appear to ahve been issued for export so these may not be widely available here in UK!

FRANCE 1st / 1st
France has also completed it's first print of the first edition. These are now apparently sold in the shops there and they are into their second print or higher. I am getting a small number of 1st/1st French books shortly!

Thanks Ivo for the fantastic Italian pressings. These have the "Le Rose Inglesi" title. The first editions include PRIMA EDIZIONE on their copyright page. These are really cute! (ISBN: 88-07-92406-4)

HOLLAND 1st Edition
Thanks to VinceH in The Netherlands for info on their edition. The Dutch edition is called: "De Engelse Rozen" and already into its second print of the first edition! (ISBN: 90-5000-642-6)

YOUR MADONNA MESSAGE BOARD!

The world and it's dog seems to have had their pressing of the new Madonna book, The English Roses, which is great for us collectors! Here in UK we had the hard back book with matching dust cover. There has not been too much publicity surrounding the release, just a few shots in the newspapers and the obligatory feature in Heat magazine of course. I bought mine from WHSmith and they had nothing exciting for the release? - well apart from £3 off, which was good enough for me.

I must thank Lewis Michener for so many intersing images of various versions of the book from places around the world. I have featured all here and hope to get copies of each one. If you have one not yet featured here can you email me with a scan of the book cover, so I can add it below. Likewise if anyone wants a UK version in trade for a non UK pressing feel free to contact me.

Taiwan have a copy which appears to include some kind of color OBI around the lower part of the book. Although the OBI sadly does not include Madonna on it! Sweden has an intersing cover with "Englands Rosor" translation! Thailand is certain to become a favourite with Madonna collectors on account of the wonderful text! Italy has a cool version called "Le Rose Inglesi" (I have these in stock NOW, see Latest Items - Magazines!) Romania has their version titled: "Trandafirii englezesti". This is accommpanied by a cool promotional only web banner/advert which is pictured to the right. (Cheers Cat from Romania for these images!) Holland, The Netherlands has it's version called "De Engelse Rozen" (Cheers to Marianne Viersma for the great scan!)

There is also a cool press release/pack issued by Puffin Books who publish The English Roses. I only have small images right now and will try and locate it, or some bigger images as soon as possible.

Sunday 14th September was another UK cover magazine. This is the Sunday Times newspaper supplement issued free with the newspaper. It came sealed in a polythene bag along with some other supplements. The newspaper has a cool promo shot from the new book, The English Roses and the supplement includes another Times Newspaper interview with Madonna where among a number of things She talks about the new books.

Well first there was tomato spelt with an 'e' at the end and now we have Madonna doing a classic with Her "Who's that, is she good?" when asked about Enid Blyton. Its a little scary that Madonna has never heard of one of Britains most famous writers. I guess money can't buy you brains, LOL..

Madonna launched her first book, The English Roses, the first of five childrens books written by Madonna. The launch was held in central London on Sunday 14th September. The books are published by Puffin Books here in UK. I will add more details on them shortly.
