YOUR MADONNA MESSAGE BOARD!

Thought I better add an update for all the latest Madonna magazine covers appearing since the American Life release and build up. Thanks to Lewis Mitchener from 'up north' for so many Madonna covers. I have also added a few of my own and thanks to Dimi for the great cover magazines from Germany.

Also.. Quite a few of you have noticed that the DAD and AL Collectors Guides are blank. While I have kept the Hot News fully updated and also the listing pages, AL and DAD, which are generally up to date. The actual Ultiog Of... guides have not been completed yet. This is because I am databasing everything I know and will be using this database to run all future guides. I will eventually start publishing the database at this site. This will be about the same time that the Ultiography is released. Nov or Dec 2003 okay. Thanks darren for the cover design!!

BACK TO MADONNA COVER MAGAZINES:
Nothing new for the UK since we had the Radio Times Madonna cover. This was dated April 26th to 2nd May, and is a TV and Radio listings magazine. The full Madonna cover was to celebrate the Jonathan Ross, Madonna interview being aired on BBC 1 in the UK on Friday 25th April. The cover title is "Americans are obsessed". Inside features a five page artical called "Who's Chat Girl" which includes a run-down of some of the questions, with answers, that Jonathan Ross asked Madonna already plus ones He will put to her in His big interview on Radio One. Also includes pictures.

Thailand has produced a whole range of amazing and highly collectable cover magazines recently. April saw the release of Esquire magazine with full cover, showing Madonna in combats and a beret. May saw two more full cover magazines: Pop magazine has Madonna looking face one with an army cap on, while Forward featured a more 'gentile' Madonna, still in army attire, but with long blck hair, nice!. Finally 'June' has so far seen the release of a cool cover magazine with Thai title and Thail cover writing, so not too sure what it is actually called? Do you know?

Finally, there is a cool promotional poster issued for the American Life album release. It measures 21 inches by 30 and is issued by Warner Music Thailand.

Just received this rather fine beauty from Lara in Brazil. This is the mega rare Brazil promo CD issued in small numbers for Die Another Day. It was pressed for a company called 'Videolar' by WEA Brazil. The CD carries seven mixes: Radio Edit 3:29, Album Version 4:37, Dirty Vegas Main Mix 10:09, Thee Retrolectro Mix 6:59, Thunderpuss Club Mix 9:25, Deepsky Remix 7:28 and Brother Brown's Bond-age Club 7:52.

The disc is traditional, similar to most DAD CDs, however it does carry 'CDWP119' catalogue number, WEA logo and special Portugese wording around the disc edge which includes: "Fabricado Por Videolar" and reference to Warner Music Brazil!. The spine of the insert shows "WEA MUSIC", "Die Another Day" and the catalogue number. The inside of the insert is totally unique with all seven tracks listed and their position on the disc, plus the lyrics to Die Another Day!! A really cool item!!

There is also a Ray Of Light promo made by Videolar. This has a special promo sticker on it's case. I will post pictures here when I receive this from Brazil. Finally, Tony Barton from here in UK has Another Suitcase In Another Hall on Brazilian V/A promo CD called 'Promo 2'; this has 'CDWP01497' catalogue number and comes with insert sleeve. These are the only known Brazilian promo CDs in existance.

This is the first USA promo CD for Hollywood with just the Edit 3:48 mix with plain case and back insert sleeve only. Has the newer promo disc design on silver disc. Catalogue number: PRO-CDR-101128.

This is the rare "Missy Elliott American Dream Remixes" promo CD which comes with back insert and promo stickered thick jewel case. The sticker is cool carrying full graphics and 'PRO-CD-101097' catalogue number. The disc is typical of the new style USA promo CDs issued since Die Another Day in 2002. Contains the following three mixes:
01) American Life American Dream Clean Edit 4:36
02) American Life American Dream Remix 4:40
03) American Life American Dream Instrumental Remix 4:33.

April 2002 saw the emergence rather interesing Italian version of the Remastered Lake A Virgin CD album, issued exclusively with TV Sorissi magazine. Now Spain has done a similar thing with You Can Dance CD album.

El Pais is a very popular Spanish newspaper which has boasted many Madonna covers in the past. However, for the first week of June they are including a special pressing of You Can Dance CD album with custom insert and disc.

Both the insert and disc includes "Distributed in Spain..." and the spine of the case is clear showing: "EL PAIS LOS DISCOS DE TU VIDA" (...Music/cds of life! ..according to my limited Spanish!)

There is another Hollywood CD promo, this one is the official CD promo in card picture slip case (PRO4095) with intersting graphics!?. Has back sleeve design also and nice disc graphics. Contains the Radio Edit!

Thanks first of all to Jose Guadelupe for the amazing information and images of rather intersting vending machines which can be found in the subways of Santiago, Chile.

I first heard about some CD singles that have appeared recently which originate from Chile, in South America. I have images of three such pressings: Like A Virgin, Luck Star and Music.

Looking at the vending machine there appears to be two more CD singles: Ray Of Light and possibly another one for Music. Plus the album American Life! The image is from a magazine issued there. The article is about the succes of Madonna in Latin America, but doesn't say if there are more singles apart of these of the pic!

If anyone from Chile has access to these CDs please contact me as I need to buy some!

Thanks to Kent from www.maddymusic.com for first pictures of the German 1 sided Test Pressing of American Life. This is a mega rare item, totally inpossible to acquire right now! It is a beautiful 1 sided Test Pressing with white labels. The playing side of the vinyl has large "TEST PRESSING" printed onto it with "ARTIST: MADONNA" and "TITLE: AMERICAN LIFE" along with the usual 'rights' wording and German Manufacture wording and interesting www.madonna-music.de URL! Has 'PRO 7401' catalogue number and plays: American Life - Felix Da Housecat Davin Dazzle Club Mix - 6:08.

The B-side has plain white label with "Play Other Side" printed on it and NO grooves!

If you have a spare copy please let me know as I am after one myself!

Thanks to Kent from www.maddymusic.com for first pictures of the German made LP of American Life, issued Monday 12th May. There is currently just the Explicit Version with Explicit Warning printed on it's cover. Has '9362-48439-1' catalogue number.

This is the second USA promo CD issued for Die Another Day, called "Die Another Day The Remix Edits" (PRO-CD-101005). It is rather scarce now even in USA. Has four remix with NO sleeve but cool promo only sticker and brand new style disc graphics that have since been used on American Life and Hollywood. Stickered promos do seem to be the way the USA promos are being manufactured nowadays. I guess it is a cheap alternative. Does however have back insert and the whole thing comes in thick jewel casing! Includes the following mixes of Die Another Day:

02) Die Another Day - Thee RetroLectro Radio Edit.
03) Die Another Day - Deepsky Radio Edit.
