BURNING UP
This was Madonna's first single in Japan, only issued in 7" single format, and what a beauty. Japanese 7"'s are of superior quality to those from the West and come not in a picture sleeve but with a 7" picture insert and usually come with some sort of black-and-white information sheet. Burning Up (P-1775) came with a typically unique sleeve. Expect to pay around £30 for a mint copy.
HOLIDAY
Holiday (P1831) came in equally tasty 'sunglasses' variation picture insert 7" single. Expect to pay £30 for this little gem.
BORDERLINE
This came in 'bangles' variation picture insert, another rare 7" (P1852) which quests £25-£30.
LUCKY STAR
Issued in yet another 'bangles' variation 7" (P1877), the last of the rare 7"'s, fetching around £25.
LIKE A VIRGIN
Produced six formats in total, the first being a great 7" (P1887) with 'Virgin album' picture insert, this was accompanied by an equally collectable four-track 12" (P6206) in p/s and 'obi' titled 'Like A Virgin And Other Great Hits'. Accompanying the 12" was a CD (28XD455) and cassette single (PKF1031), both came with picture covers and carry identical tracks to the 12" and are now extremly rare fetching around £30 each. Two reissued CDs have also came out, the first was in 1990 (WPCP3437) and the second in 1997 (WPCR1501), catalogue number.
MATERIAL GIRL
Produced similar pressings to 'Virgin' with four formats and two reissues. The 7" (P1943) came with picture insert, similar to that used in the UK for the single. The three-track 12" (P5199), titled 'Material Club Mixes', came in full picture sleeve and sleeve OBI. A CD (28XD) and cassette single (PKD7002), both in picture sleeves, are now rare and fetching £25-£30 each. A reissue CD came out in 1990 with 'WPCP5063' catalogue number, with another in 1997 with 'WPCR1509'
